Cookies explained

In this day and age, most professional websites use cookies. This one is no different. Cookies are very small files downloaded to your device, and stored and used by your web browser to remember certain things to improve your browsing experience.

Wikipedia’s page on HTML cookies ↗︎ gives you a good understanding of what they are, do and why they are used. We recommend a visit there to gain an even better understanding of how the web works.

Our use of cookies

This site uses some cookies for reasons specified below. This is only to better your experience while using the site, and to give us an understanding of how the different parts of the site are used. This functions as feedback to us as the creators of the site, so we can continue creating content that works as intended (i.e.: show off our work and make it possible to create new connections with potential clients or collaborators).

There are ways to disable cookies all together (internet wide through your browser), but this can really alter (and in most cases worsen) your experience online by halting a lot of expected functionality of websites. Have a look in your browser’s settings and FAQs/Help section on how to do this. We do not recommend disabling cookies, due to the above-mentioned reasons.

These are the cookies we create when you use our site

→ Site Preference Cookies

The cookie gathers just the most basic of information, and enables a website to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, typically like your preferred language or the region that you are in. These expire and are automatically deleted after 30 days from being created.

→ Third Party Cookies

At times, we use cookies provided by trusted third parties. The following are cookies we might use during the visit to our site:

Google Analytics

The most used analytics platform on the Internet. By having cookies enabled, you give us the understanding of how our website is used. You and other people who use our website adds to the count of how many people have visited our site, how long they stayed, and what parts of the site that gained the most attention. This information is then used to better understand how we can enhance the user experience further.

Read more about Google Analytics and how it works on their official site ↗︎.

Video Content from Vimeo as a Service Provider

Vimeo is a video hosting and streaming service, located at Vimeo, LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. Whenever we show video content that is not loaded directly from our servers as video files, we use Vimeo as the provider for streaming video content. When this happens, the video is streamed from their servers in the United States, and you as a consumer are then subject to their cookie policies. To understand better how the use of these cookies affect you, please have a look at their Privacy Policies on https://www.vimeo.com/privacy ↗︎. Due to how the videos are implemented on our site, a connection is created directly with their servers, and Vimeo can then collect their own information through their own cookies. This is outside of our site specific control or access.

If you have a Vimeo account, and at the time of your visit are viewing video content provided by Vimeo on our site, they collect data that is then directly tied to your account. By logging out of your Vimeo account before visiting this site, this connection is broken, and they will not collect said information with the connection to your Vimeo account. Read more at https://www.vimeo.com/privacy ↗︎.

In addition to this, Vimeo do their own analytics. They do this by using Google Analytics via an iFrame that it streams the video through. This give them information about your use of said video content on our site, while also collecting your IP address. To stop them from retrieving this information, and opting out of Google Analytics collection in general, you can use Google’s own browser plugin available at: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=gb ↗︎.
